In my Control Panel\Administrative Tool\ Services there are three Google Software Updaters listed, and 8 disabled services listed including Applications Management, Clipbook, Messenger, Net.TCP, Network DDE, Network DDE DSDM, Routing and Remote Access, Symantec Core LC. And xenappweb.exe is on my desktop even if it is important, why would an exe program be on my desktop? I also have Safari - can I get rid of that? For example, I have Modem Helper and Modem On Hold although I don't have a phone or fax connected to the computer. In exploring my computer, I have noticed programs laying around which are mysteries to me but I fear deleting them lest they are essential.
Start-up is slow and opening and closing Excel is also slow. In preparation for upgrading to a new computer in a few months, I have been trying to clean-up this one and if possible speed it up.Īlmost everyday, I get notices that I don't have enough virtual memory.
